Hello Friend, I AM Tamera J.
EMDR Consultant-in-Training. Life Coach. Healer at Heart!
I believe healing is more than learning how to cope with what happened to us.
Healing is a journey back to ourselves.
It is understanding the ways we learned to survive, honoring the parts of us that carried what once felt too heavy, and gently discovering that we no longer have to live from the same places that once protected us.
It is reconnecting with our bodies, our voice, our relationships, and the parts of ourselves we may have lost along the way. And from that deeper connection, creating new possibilities for how we live, love, relate, lead, and become.
My work weaves together trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, attachment, relationships, and nervous-system awareness around one belief that continues to shape everything I do:
People make sense when we understand their story.
There is meaning beneath the pattern.
There is a story beneath the response.
There is often protection beneath the very thing we are trying so hard to change.
And I believe the same depth of understanding belongs in the way we develop therapists.
Becoming a powerful clinician is about more than learning interventions, following protocols, or trying to perform therapy “correctly.” It is learning how to slow down, listen beneath what is being said, understand what is unfolding in the room, and think clinically while remaining deeply human.
The Healers Pathways Collective was born from this vision.
A space where clients can find pathways toward healing.
Where therapists can deepen their clinical wisdom.
Where learning becomes embodiment.
Where healing becomes more than symptom relief.
And where both client and clinician are invited into a deeper journey of understanding, connection, growth, and possibility.
Because there is more than one pathway to healing.
And you were never meant to walk the journey alone.

My Approach to Healing
I believe healing asks us to tend to the whole person.
Not just the thoughts we think, but the stories we carry.
Not just the emotions we can name, but the experiences our bodies still remember.
Not just what happened to us, but how those experiences shaped the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world.
My approach brings together trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, attachment, relationship work, nervous-system awareness, and space for faith and spirituality when that is meaningful to you.
Because sometimes you already understand why you feel the way you do—and still find yourself repeating the same patterns.
That is where deeper healing can begin.
Mind
We explore the beliefs, meanings, and patterns that have formed through your experiences—especially the ones that quietly influence how you see yourself today.
Body
We pay attention to what your nervous system may still be holding: the tension, fear, shutdown, urgency, or protective responses that words alone do not always reach.
Spirit
We make room for meaning, identity, purpose, faith, and the deeper parts of who you are becoming. Your spirituality can be honored as part of your healing without being forced or prescribed.
My role is not to tell you who you should become.
It is to walk alongside you as you understand what shaped you, reconnect with yourself, and create new possibilities for how you live, love, relate, and lead.
Healing is not about becoming someone new. Sometimes it is the journey of returning to the parts of yourself you had to leave behind in order to survive.
With a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University and more than a decade of clinical experience, I have devoted my work to understanding the stories, relationships, and experiences that shape who we become. As an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, EMDR Consultant-in-Training, educator, and lifelong learner, I am passionate about helping people move beyond simply understanding their patterns and begin creating meaningful change. My work brings together trauma healing, attachment, relationships, nervous-system awareness, and a mind, body, and spirit approach to growth.
Through The Healer’s Pathways Collective, I hold space for both clients and therapists as they navigate their own pathways toward healing, growth, and becoming. And when I’m not holding space for healing, you’ll usually find me enjoying life with my husband and children, grandchildren, traveling somewhere new, sitting outside grilling good food, under the glow of tiki torches, or simply vibing to good music. At the heart of it all is a belief that guides both my life and my work: People make sense when we understand their story.
